They also make a terrific activity for physical skills including fine motor coordination and control as well as hand-eye coordination. Count the beads, recognize the colour, recognize the letter, and sound out its sound.
Letter sound or letter sound matching involves knowledge of the sounds represented by letters. Knowledge of letter-sound is essential in reading and writing. In order to read a word, the learner must recognise the letters in the word and associate each letter with its sound. In order to write or type a word, the learner must break the word into its component sounds and know the letters that represent these sounds.
